As the ski season just begun, I would like to share with you some tips on the best ski resorts around.
Klosters is famous to count among the favourite destination of royalties as the Prince Charles, socialties, politicians and others… (I sat next to the former French President Sarkozy a couple of years ago).
How to reach Klosters: It takes only 2 hours by train to reach Klosters Dorf, with only one change. You can therefore decide to spend only a one-day trip there or to stay the whole week-end. (Last train at 21.37).
What to do: Klosters share its ski slopes with Davos and is one of the biggest domains in Europe. You can ski on the longest slope in Europe and will find all kind of level ski from beginner to advanced skiers. Ski pass price for the regional mountains: FCH 139 per adult for 2 days.On the pists, you will find numerous of Schnee Bar and mountain restaurants.
Where to stay: Klosters counts a large choice of hotels. I would recommend the Sunstar Hotel for its facilities, the Sport Hotel or the Alpina. If you are a large group, it might be costless to rent an apartment: here a website dedicated to rental in Klosters.
After-Ski: to be honest, Klosters is not the biggest party spot. But for your après-ski, we recommend you the piano bar Casa Antica (Landstrasse 176) for its cocktail or the Gotschnabar (Gotschnastrasse 21) for its arabian atmosphere. The Bolgen Plaza is more a “snow bar” with a friendly and sporty atmosphere at the foot of the Jakobshorn, At the Gaudy’s ( Rütipromenade) you can enjoy lively live music.
Dinner: you’ll find a large rank of gourmet restaurants. To name a few of them:
Bar&Clubs: The Chesa Bar is a popular after dinner spot.
Hope you get everything you need for a wonderful week-end in Klosters !
